With a Smile

It's become a sweet habit. Emailing, tweeting, facebooking, blogging, I visualize the one(s) reading me, and I let the heart open, and I break into a smile. To let them know, I punctuate my messages with a a few big

  2. Hi Marguerite -

    Happy New Year to you!!

Yes, I often use :) when conveying a genuine smile. I used to think it was kind of 'cheesy' or not proper to use it in writing, but I now really like using it. So much of direct communication between individuals is done via writing. This is great, but one of the challenges is that emotion and tone is very hard to communicate and interpret when writing. So, I think using icons, or smiley faces when writing to better share what we are feeling is a wonderful thing.

    :)

    Peace,
    Nate
